UIDAI Offers Online Services : You Should Know


The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) launches various online services for Aadhaar card users, and here we will give some basic information about how to use these online services from UIDAI Govt. of India and it's really very helpful to the Aadhaar users.

Note: Registered mobile number is mandatory to avail Aadhaar online services.

Aadhaar Card UIDAI Offers Online Services - You Should Know

Search Banks/Post Offices Aadhaar Enrolment Center:

The UIDAI's appointments portal helps users to information on Aadhaar enrolment and update centres. This portal helps you to find nearest Aadhaar enrolment or update centres i.e. various bank and post office Aadhaar centres by selecting the State, District, Sub District and Pin Code.

How to Search Aadhaar Enrolment and Update Centres?
  • Visit UIDAI appointments portal.
  • Search Criteria State/Pin Code/Search box (Select Pin Code it's simple)
  • Enter the Pin Code of your area and verification code.
  • Click on Search it will show Aadhaar enrolment and update centres near you.
Check Aadhaar application status:


How to check Aadhaar application status?
  • Visit UIDAI Check Aadhaar Status.
  • Enter Enrolment ID (EID 1234/12345/12345)
  • Then Enter Date and Time (dd/mm/yyy hh:mm:ss)
  • Enter Security Code and Click on Check Status.
Know Your Lost EID/UID:

If you lost your Aadhaar Number or Enrolment Number, you can also retrieve the Aadhaar Number (UID) or Enrolment Number (EID). Visit the UIDAI website link given below and enter the full name, Email or Mobile Number as registered in your Aadhaar and then enter the security code, then click on Send OTP and then verify the OTP your received on your phone.

How to Retrieve your Lost Aadhaar or Enrolment Number?
  • Visit UIDAI Retrieve EID/UID.
  • Select Aadhaar Number (UID) or Enrolment Number (EID) your want to retrieve.
  • Enter the Full Name as register in your Aadhaar.
  • Enter your Registered Email or Mobile Number.
  • Enter Security Code and Click on Send OTP.
  • Then Enter the OTP you received and Verify OTP.
Download E-Aadhaar Card:

According to the UIDAI website an individual can download the Aadhaar card either by using the Aadhaar Number or Enrolment ID with Date and Time Stamp.

How to Download E-Aadhaar Card Online?
  • Visit UIDAI Download Aadhaar Portal.
  • Select Aadhaar or Enrolment ID (Which one you have).
  • Enter12 Digit Aadhaar Number (For Aadhaar base download) or
  • Enter Enrolment ID 14 Digit Number and Date and Time Stamp (For EID base download)
  • Then enter the full name as registered in your Aadhaar.
  • Then enter the Pin Code and then enter the security code and click on Request OTP.
  • Now enter your 6 digit OTP and click on Download Aadhaar.
Get Aadhaar on Mobile:


Users can get their Aadhaar number on their mobile number through the UIDAI Aadhaar on Mobile portal. To know how to get Aadhaar on mobile number please follow the below steps.

  • Enter the Enrolment ID and Date/Time.

How to Update/Correction Address pm Aadhaar Card?
  • Visit UIDAI Aadhaar Self Service Update Portal.
  • Read the instruction given on the UIDAI website and then click on Proceed.
  • Enter your Aadhaar Number/VID.
  • Then Enter the Text Verification Code and click on Send OTP.
  • Now enter your OTP you received on the phone, then request for data update.
  • Upload required documents.

Aadhaar Update Request Status:

If you have request for address update of Aadhaar online, then you can check the update status online by using the UIDAI portal. Verify Aadhaar Number:

By using the UIDAI portal user can verify his or her Aadhaar number by entering the Aadhaar Number and text verification security code. Verify Email or Mobile Number:

In this portal the users can verify their Email or Mobile Number declared  in the Aadhaar system. That means you can get the details about verify your email address and mobile number, which has been declared during Aadhaar enrolment or latest update request, which ever is later.

  • Go to the UIDAI Portal Here.
  • Enter your Aadhaar number.
  • Enter your registered Email or Mobile Number.
  • Enter security code and click on Get OTP.
  • Then enter the OTP you received and click on Verify OTP.
Lock/Unlock Biometrics:

The aadhaar user can also enable or disable his or her biometrics, to use the biometric lock system the user is required to login using the aadhaar according to the UIDAI website. This facility allows aadhaar card holder to lock his or her biometric and you can also unlock the biometric. Once the biometrics are locked, the aadhaar card holder will not able to use the biometrics i.e. finger prints and iris details, after enable biometric you can use it again.

Aadhaar Authentication History

With this feature the user can check Authentication details by fetching your aadhaar authentication history data. That means you can find the detail information on how many times your Aadhaar UID is used for authentication. The user can match the details available in Aadhaar authentication history and detect any misuse.

Adobe Reader Signature Validation : How to Validate Signature of a PDF Document


When you open a PDF document with having a digital signature, it shows

Validity unknown
Digitally signed by
signer's name
Date:

If you click on the Signature, it will show the "Signature Validation Status" saying that

Signature validity is UNKNOWN.
-The Document has not been modified since this signature was applied.
-The signer's identity is unknown because it has not been included in your list of trusted certificates and none of its parent certificates are trusted certificates.

So here is the way how to add a signature to trusted list in Adobe Reader to validate signature and also how to remove a trusted signature.



To add a signature to trusted list in Adobe Reader follow the steps below:

  • Open the PDF Document and Click on the Signature to be Validate
  • Click on Signature Properties

  • On the Certificate Viewer Click on Trust Tab then Click on 'Add to Trusted Certificates'

What is Word Processing ?

The application program, which enable to processing of words is called the word processing program or simply word processor. A word processor is a software package that helps the user to crate and edit documents. Creating a document involves typing into the internal memory of the computer and saving it by writing it onto a disk.

Editing the documents involves correcting the spelling mistakes (if any) deleting, coloring, designing, change the letter size and deleting or moving words, sentences of paragraphs.

What is Windows ? - Computer Basic Tutorials


Windows is an Operating system. It provides an environment called graphical user interface (GUI). We have to interact the computer visually or graphically. With windows we have not remember the DOS commands and how to put it. You can do it by simply click on a picture or select command from the list, that you want to do.

Components of Windows :-

1) TITLE BAR ---->

Title bar display at the top of the windows. It also display the current application and file name that you use.

2) MENU BAR ---->

It display at the below of the title bar. These are the collection of options or commands.

3) TOOL BAR --->

The bar in which you find the tools. The tools are the pictorial form of the option of command.

Tool Tips --> When you move the mouse pointer to tool, it gives a message regarding the use of that tool is called tool tips.

4) STATUS BAR ---->

It display the size of a selected file or folder. This bar appear bellow of the window.


*DESKTOP---> The windows back ground screen or on which all the windows and icons appear is called Desktop.

*WINDOW---> The Rectangular portion on which you find; Tools,  Title, Menu bar etc, is called window.

*ICON---> The pictorial form of application or files or folders, which are placed on the Desktop or inside any Drive is called an Icon.

5) TASKBAR ---->

Task-bar normally appear at the bottom of the desktop. The most important button of the taskbar is Start. You use the start button to run a program each time. When you open a window the taskbar placed the window name on it.

     Language means the communication. A programmer makes use of computer language to communicate with the computer. Computer language divided into 3 types.

1) MLL - Machine Level Language
2) ALL - Assembly Level Languag
3) HLL - High Level Language

1) MLL (Machine Level Language) :
         The computer can understand only one language called MLL. In this language all the instructions are coded into '0' and '1'. It is not easy for a programmer, only expert programmer are create programs using  this language. A program that creates in a computer using MLL can't execute in another computer. It is difficult to modify, but one advantage of this language is, it executes very first than other language because it directly related with machine. 

2) ALL (Assembly Level Language) :
         To avoid difficulty using MLL a new symbolic language was developed called ALL Assembly Level Language. In this language one symbol dows one task, like "add" means add tow number. It is also difficult to a programmer and take long time to create a program.

3) HLL (High Level Language) :
         The HLL High Level Language brought a revolution in the fields of computer. The instructions written in HLL are in ordinary English statement, which is very easy to understand. A program that creates in one computer using High Level Language can execute in any computer, with simple modification or not. Today all the language that are use in computer are HLL.

What is Software - Computer Basic Tutorials


         The software are the program that govern the operation of a computer system and make the hardware run. Software is not touchable. Depending upon the various use of software, it is mainly classified into the following types:

1) System Software
2) Service Software
3) Application Software

1) SYSTEM SOFTWARE :

It is a collection of master programs designed to operate the computer and control it's activities. The system software is either provided by manufacturer or independent software developers. Development of system software is called system's programming. The most important system which governs all the activities of the computer. Examples of operating system are : MS-DOS, IBM PC-DOS, APPLE-DOS, UNIX, XENIX, LINUX, Windows 9x etc.

2) SERVICE SOFTWARE :

Service software are those software which provides various services to computer user in order to program the computer. They are used to convert the program instructions of high level language to their equivalent machine language form.

Types of system software.

i) Interpreters
ii) Compiler
iii) Assembler
iv) Editors

i) INTERPRETERS :

There are certain language utilities which are not compiler based, such as source programs are not stored. The instructions of the source program are taken one by one and immediately convert into machine language and executed instantly. But the execution time of the program increases considerably, it display errors stepwise.

ii) COMPILERS :

Compilers can be loaded into the internal memory and work when required by the user. They are also used to convert HLL instruction into machine language and object program is generated. Each HLL has it's own compiler, like Cobol Compiler, Fortran Compiler etc. It takes a lot of time as the complete source code is generated, but execution speed of the program increase tremendously. It displays all errors at a time.

iii) ASSEMBLER :

To execute an assembly language program, first it should be translated into it's equivalent machine language program. The translator which does this is known as Assembler.

iv) EDITOR :

Editor is a program which makes possible to store the source program in RAM and provides access to it directly for error correction, organisation or restructuring etc.

3) APPLICATION SOFTWARE :

It is a set of programs which are written by a compiler user or programer to meet their in formation processing requirements. These programs do specified jogs for the user. This software also known as package. The most applications are MS Word, MS Excel, Tally etc. without application software computer can run.

External Memory - Computer Basic Tutorials


            In secondary memory we stores data permanently for future purpose. It has much large capacity than the main memory. Once data or information stores in this memory do not erase of loss until the user delete it. It stores the system software, large data files, useful packages etc. computer's secondary memory is unlimited. It is also non-volatile in nature. The secondary storage capacity can be increased by adding Hard Disks as per the requirement.

External Memory
MAGNETIC TAPE :

This is an external memory. Magnetic tape looks like the audio cassette tape, the data stores in that tape and the tape is coated with magnetizable recording material. The tape used in a computer can be 12.5 mm to 25 mm wide plastic film type and 500 meters to 1200 meters like audio recording tapes, computer tape can be erased and reused indefinitely.

FLOPPY DISK :

Floppy disk is a rounded Mylar or Vinyl plastic materials with magnetic coating on one or both sides and sealed permanently in a plastic jacket to protect them from dust and scratches. There are two standard size for these disks. These are 8 inches, 5.25 inches and 3.5 inches floppies come in two density, double density and high density. The 8" diskette is obsolete now.

Depending on the density and the number of sides used, we have the following types of floppies.

DSSD - Double Sided Single Density
DSDD - Double Sided Double Density
DSHD - Double Sided High Density

The capacity of floppy disk is 1.44 MB.

HARD DISK :

Hard disk is the secondary memory which stores huge amount of data. It is more stable and protected. The Hard Disk is made up of collection of diskettes known as platters. It is sealed in a vacuum container, and located inside the system unit. When the tracks having the same track number, on the different platters of a hard disk are joined together, they form a cylinder. Now hard disks are coming with a capacity of GB (Gigabyte) and TB (Terabyte).

CD (Compact Disk) :

This memory device is use to store data for a long time and it easily move from one point to another. CD-ROM is just one form of optical storage. In addition to this prerecorded read only technology, there are laser based writable optical storage devices also appearing in the market with Write Once Read Many or WORM system, users record their data on blank optical disks, Now a days Re-Writable CD (RW-CD) also available, in which you can Write and Erase the data if you want.

DVD (Digital Video Disk) : Digital Video Disk (DVD) is structurally same as CD, but it has the Higher capacity than CD, to write or burn DVD you need DVD Drive to be fixed in CPU. DVD also available with RW (Re-Writable) facility.

Memory is basically a storage place. In a computer the memory is used for the storage and subsequent retrieval of data and instructions.

The memory in computer is of two types:

1) INTERNAL / PRIMARY / MAIN MEMORY
2) EXTERNAL / SECONDARY / MASS MEMORY

How Information is Stored in Memory ?

   Information is stored electronically in a computer in the form of binary digits (Ones or Zeros) called bits. 8 bits is called a byte and has 256 possible combinations of Ones and Zeros. A Kilobyte stores 1000 characters. A Megabyte stores one Million characters and A Gigabyte can store one Billion characters.

Tiny transistors, circuits that act as switches within the computer's circuitry can turned on of off to represent a One or Zero in a binary digit and thereby stores the data.

Sometimes memory be expressed in word length. In PC world, for 80286 processor the word = 2bytes = 16bits and for 80386 and 80486 processor the word = 4bytes =32bits.

For external memory data are often transferred in much large units than a word (8, 16, 32bits) and these are referred as a block.

Three Structure for Memory
1) PRIMARY MEMORY :

This memory is built inside the chips. It stores data for sometime. It is volatile in nature, if the computer is switched off or any problem in computer the data should erased. The data or program may be kept in off-line secondary storage and bring into the main memory when needed. This memory can be accessed much faster than the secondary memory. Main memory is formed by a large number of basic units referred to as "Memory Cells" and each cell has an unique address. Each cell or units or circuit is capable of storing a binary digit. Main memory is of two types.

a) ROM (Read Only Memory)
b) RAM (Random Access Memory)

ROM (Read Only Memory)

The ROM chips are pre-programmed information is 'burnt' into ROM chip at manufacturing time. In this memory we can read only the information. We can not write into the chip, ROM is basically non-volatile, i.e. the contents of ROM are not lost where power goes off suddenly. The ROM chips contain instructions for controlling the operation of a computer. These generally are much slower than a RAM.

There are four variations of ROM chips:

i) The pure ROM : It is programmed by the manufacturer.

ii) PROM : This is a programmable ROM that can be directly programmed by using a facility known as a PROM programmer.

iii) EPROM : This is Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory. The contents of this chips can be erased by exposing the chip to ultraviolet light.

iv) EEROM : A newly developed type of memory can be programmed and erased by electrical signals. It is know as Electrically Erasable Read Only Memory. It does not need exposure to ultraviolet light to erase it's contents. EEROM is similar to EPROM, information loaded in this memory can be retained for many years without any power supplied. Thus when power comes the microcomputer can continue working just as nothing had happened.

RAM (Random Access Memory)

This is actually primary memory. The term Random Access Memory means that any word in the memory may be accessed without having to go through the all other words to get into. It also as Read / Write memory. RAM is volatile i.e. it's contents are lost as soon as the power supply is switched off. RAM is power dependent. Data goes to the main processor after being loaded in the RAM. There are two types of RAM 1) DRAM - Dynamic RAM and 2) SRAM - Static RAM.

UNITS OF MEMORY :

Bit : The computer works on the basis of making "ON or OFF" of electronic pulses passing of a pulse represents '1' and blocking of a pulse represents '0'. Bit is the smaller unit of information any one of the binary digits "0 or 1". It is a short term for the word binary digit. A group of 4 bits is called Nibble.

Byte : Byte is made up of 8 bits. A group of bits representing data or instructions that form the basic information unit of computer is called a word. A word may be formed using two or more bytes, the most common being the four bytes combination.

1 Nibble = 4 Bits
1 Byte = 8 Bits
1 KB ( Kilobyte) = 1024 Bytes
1 MB (Megabyte) = 1024 Kilobyte
1 GB (Gigabyte) = 1024 Megabyte

1) DIGITAL COMPUTER :

This type of computer manipulates digital and perform arithmetic and logical operations on that data. A digital device directly counts numbers, that represent numbers, letters and other special symbols.

a) MICRO COMPUTER :

A micro computer is a computer whose CPU is micro processor. A micro processor is a processor all of those components are on a single Integrated circuit. It can be divided into two types.

i)  Home Computer
ii) Personal Computer

i) HOME COMPUTER :

Home computer are meant for habits rather than professionals. This consist of a keyboard integrated with CPU in one box type thing and interfaced with ordinary Television and audio cassettes. They are meant for entertainment and training. Some popular home computers were ZX-81, Apple -II, New Brain.

ii) PERSONAL COMPUTER :

These are so called because they are designed for personal use of individual small business. They are meant for professionals, small business units and office automation system.

b) MINI COMPUTER :

The mini computer (Nearly 1960s) became a multi user or shared system speed of execution, Instruction, repertoire, memory size and other characters of mini computers increased with advances in technology.

c) MAINFRAME COMPUTER :

These are large machines with terminals meant to be used by a number of users. They have memory and support both multi user and multi tasking capabilities. They also support a large number of external peripheral devices.

           Their processing speed ranges in between 1 to 10 million instruction per second and can support nearly 100 users in time sharing mode. They are generally used in large computation intensive, scientific and engineering problem and large scale commercial applications. 

d) SUPER COMPUTER :

The Supper Computer are the fastest computers ever made and solve a range of large scale problems which requires extensive numeric computations. They have more than one processor to process the data. It can work in random to produce a billion or more scientific and arithmetic operations every second. These are used in Weather Forecasting, Aerodynamic, Designing, Missile Technology, Oceanology,Geology and in various other scientific avenues.

2) ANALOG COMPUTER :

An Analog computer measures continuously changing physical condition such as temperature and pressure and convert them into quantities. For example thermometer it can change heat into numbers. We take the example of Do Meters or Milo Meters in a car, is a particular type of computer. It is taking the rotation of wheels and turning in into measure of distance.

3) HYBRID COMPUTER :

Hybrid computer utilise best qualities of both the digital and analog computer and are mostly used for machines or for individuals process control in Industries.
